Objectives of the position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for financial reporting, accounts receivable, staff expense claims, fixed asset accounting, and provides support in budgeting, forecasting, tax compliance, and audit activities. . The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and able to work independently within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities in SAP, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with IFRS / SFRS and Group accounting policies
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial records.
- Support standard and management reporting requirements in accordance with corporate timelines.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register, including asset capitalization, transfers, disposals, and depreciation.
- Ensure fixed asset records are accurate and compliant with accounting policies.
- Support periodic physical asset verification and reconciliation.
- Review, verify, and process staff expense claims in accordance with company policies.
- Ensure proper documentation, approval, and accurate posting of staff expenses.
- Address employee queries related to expense claims and reimbursements.
- Analyze fluctuations in key balance sheet and P&L accounts to ensure data accuracy and completeness
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documents for internal and external audits.
- Liaise with auditors and respond to audit queries in a timely manner.
- Support the preparation of corporate income tax, GST, and other statutory filings, including statutory surveys.
- Assist in annual budget and periodic forecast preparation, including data consolidation and validation.
- Monitor actual performance against budget and forecast, and support variance analysis.
- Provide timely and accurate financial data to support management decision-making.
- Actively seeking areas of improvement and introducing automation and other measures to improve process efficiency.
- Perform other ad hoc accounting or finance-related duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualification:
- Diploma/Degree in Accounting or equivalent professional qualification.
- Candidate with at least 6 years working experience in Financial Accounting.
- Solid knowledge of IFRS / SFRS and financial reporting fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with SAP (FI / AR / FA modules) or other large ERP systems.
- Practical experience in AR, staff expense claims, fixed assets, month-end closing, and audit support.
- Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, tax, and statutory compliance is an advantage.
- High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a proactive work attitude.
- Mature personality with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
