Accountant (India Market)

The Position:

A well-established commodities trading company in Singapore is seeking a talented Junior Accountant to support the Senior Finance Manager in a lean and hands-on environment. The company has significant business exposure to the India market, and this role will involve regular communication with India-based counterparts.

Responsibilities include managing day-to-day accounting operations, updating bank transactions, handling bank and cash reconciliations, petty cash, journal entries, maintaining the fixed assets register, collections and credit control, and supporting month-end closing. The role will also involve preparing financial statements, performing intercompany reconciliations, uploading payments via banking portals, and liaising with partner banks on trade finance and letter of credit matters.

Skills & Experience Required:

Diploma or Degree in Accountancy or a related discipline, with 1 to 3 years of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience. Proficiency in Excel is essential, and experience with ERP systems is required (Tally ERP is advantageous).

Ability to communicate in one or more Indian languages (e.g. Hindi, Tamil, etc.) is preferred due to daily interaction with India-based teams.
