Key Job Purpose
Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely month-end closing, financial reporting, inventory accounting, and compliance activities for the assigned legal entity. The role supports IFRS-compliant reporting within SAP, maintains accounting integrity, provides accounting and tax compliance support for the Myanmar branch, and contributes to governance and process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare SAP segmental reporting and reporting schedules.
- Support monthly and quarterly closing activities and corporate reporting requirements.
- Prepare related party audit schedules and tax schedules.
- Assist in the preparation of Notes to the Financial Statements.
- Support tax reporting, tax queries, and J-SOX compliance activities.
Inventory Management & Analysis
- Prepare forecast inventory balances and inventory reports.
- Perform monthly inventory reconciliations and investigate variances.
- Conduct year-end stock counts and auditor reconciliations.
- Review inventory provisions, stock write-offs, and disposal accounting.
- Analyse expired and slow-moving inventory.
Accounting & Reconciliation
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support external audits with schedules and supporting documentation.
- Prepare loan schedules and interest calculations.
- E-file withholding tax returns and reconcile WHT balances.
- Review bank reconciliations, employee claims, and GST submissions.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and SOPs.
Myanmar Branch Support
- Manage annual financial closing activities for the Myanmar branch.
- Support local tax filings and regulatory compliance requirements.
Governance & Process Improvement
- Support J-SOX compliance and internal controls.
- Prepare government and regulatory submissions.
- Participate in SAP S/4HANA UAT and finance-related projects.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements.
Other Duties
- Provide backup support for credit release activities.
- Assist with ad hoc finance and operational assignments.
Requirements
- Degree in Accountancy or professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ICAEW, CPA Australia, ICPAS, or equivalent).
- 1 to 3 years of experience in management accounting, financial reporting, or accounting operations.
- Knowledge of IFRS, taxation, audit, and financial reporting.
- Experience with SAP ERP and Microsoft Office.
