Job Description: Accountant
1. Finance Operations
- Prepare daily accounting entries, ensuring accuracy of the General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR).
- Record supplier invoices, patient billings, and intercompany transfers with high precision.
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register (FAR) and perform monthly depreciation runs.
- Perform daily/weekly bank reconciliations and manage the end-to-end employee claims process.
- Proactively monitor the AR aging report and execute follow-ups to ensure healthy cash flow and timely collection.
2. Month-End Closing & Reporting
- Drive the month-end close process by preparing and posting all necessary accruals, prepayments, and adjusting journals.
- Prepare monthly detailed balance sheet schedules and key account reconciliations.
- Prepare the monthly reporting pack in strict compliance with Singapore FRS and US GAAP requirements.
3. Audit, Tax & Compliance Preparations
- Support for the local statutory audit (SFRS) and group audit (US GAAP).
- Compute corporate income tax accurately and manage the timely submission of tax returns to IRAS (Form C-S/C).
- Prepare quarterly GST F5 filings and maintain digital tax records in compliance with IRAS standards.
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and corporate secretaries on statutory and filing matters.
4. Ad-Hoc Projects
- Undertake special ad-hoc accounting projects, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives as required by management.
Requirements & Competencies
Background
- Degree in Accounting or its equivalent is required. Any professional qualification (CPA / ACCA / CA) is advantageous.
- At least 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting or audit work experience.
- Familiarity with a fast-paced environment experience in the healthcare sector is a plus but not mandatory.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong working knowledge of Singapore FRS is mandatory. Proficiency or experience in US GAAP reporting is highly advantageous.
- Good knowledge of Singapore tax regulations, statutory filing deadlines, and financial best practices is highly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel). Practical experience with Oracle is highly advantageous but not mandatory.
