Job Summary:
The Accountant will manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, cash flow forecasting, and reconciliation. They will prepare GST calculations, assist with tax filings, and generate monthly financial reports, including variance analysis and financial performance summaries. The role also involves managing administrative tasks such as document organization and ensuring compliance with regulations. Additionally, the Accountant will assist with audits, internal controls, and other ad hoc duties assigned by the Head of Finance.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Receivable:
- Prepare and issue invoices to clients in accordance with contractual terms
- Submit electronic invoices (E-invoices) via the clients online portal
- Update weekly cash flow forecasts
- Perform monthly account receivable reconciliation
- Monitor and manage overdue accounts and follow up on outstanding payments.
Administrative and Document Management:
- Follow up with Project Managers (PMs) for Handover Forms, Customer Satisfaction Forms, and BCA Forms.
- Manage BCA (Building and Construction Authority) license renewals.
- Assign job numbers and manage contract files in the server.
- Collaborate with clients on performance bonds and banker guarantees.
Tax Compliance:
- Prepare quarterly computation of GST (Goods and Services Tax).
- Prepare supporting documentation for the tax agent for income tax computation.
Month End Closing:
- Prepare monthly management reporting package including variance analysis and financial performance summaries.
Regulatory Compliance and Procedure Development:
- Assist in the preparation and documentation of processes and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance with J-SOX
Audit and Internal Controls:
- Prepare audit schedules and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
- Implement and monitor internal control procedures to prevent financial discrepancies and fraud.
7. Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist head of Finance in any other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in accounting, financial reporting, and analysis.
- Knowledge of GST compliance and tax filing procedures.
Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to prepare and analyze financial reports, including variance analysis and financial performance
- summaries.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and reconciliation skills.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, internal controls, and audit procedures.
