Accountant

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented, responsible and self-driven Accountant to join our finance team. This is a hands-on role covering day-to-day accounting operations, and financial reporting and analysis for our Singapore and global businesses entities, including financial reporting, compliance, consolidation, and audit support.

The Senior Accountant will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and commercially sound for financial reporting, projections and analysis, while supporting business operations with timely insights. This position is reporting to Financial Controller - Global Business.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting and Analysis (FP&A) & Consolidation

. Handle full sets of accounts including general ledger, AR/AP, and bank reconciliations.

. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and analysis reports accurately and on time with commercially sound presentation.

. Prepare consolidation of global business (businesses of the CNE group outside China).

. Provide insightful FP&A to support management decision-making.

. Take lead on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

. Maintain proper documentation.

2. Compliance, Audit & Controls

. Prepare and file GST, corporate tax, and other statutory submissions for Singapore entities.

. Maintain accurate records in accordance with statutory and company requirements.

. Handle all statutory, internal, and external finance audits from planning to completion (for Singapore entities, as well as consolidation for global businesses), providing required documentation and explanations.

. Ensure compliance with Singapore accounting standards, tax regulations, GST, and other statutory filings.

. Maintain robust internal controls and governance practices to safeguard financial integrity.

. Act as the primary liaison with auditors, tax consultants (for global businesses), and regulatory authorities.

3. Finance Business Partnering (for assigned countries)

. Act as the key finance partner for Singapore entities, supporting business units with financial insights.

. Review and challenge budgets, monitor expenses, and track performance against KPIs.

. Provide financial analysis and scenario planning to support management decisions.

. Collaborate cross-functionally (e.g., HR, Operations, Admin) to align finance with business goals.

. Assist in monitoring cash flow and reviewing payment runs as business partnering.

4. Process Optimization & Improvements

• Utilize financial systems such as NC Cloud for accounts payable, reporting, and data integration.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting operations, FP&A and consolidation.
• Recommend system or process enhancements to improve productivity and compliance.
• Participate in system upgrade or change in ERP for global businesses.
• Review and streamline accounting workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Implement best practices in accounting operations, controls, and reporting.
• Drive initiatives that strengthen finance as a strategic enabler of business growth.

Skills & Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• CPA, ISCA or similar qualification (e.g. ACCA) is required.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with exposure to Singapore entities.
• Solid knowledge of Singapore accounting standards, GST, and tax compliance. Prior experience in Big 4 accounting firm will be advantageous.
• Proficient in accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero or NC Cloud) and MS Excel.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others in a fast-paced, dynamic global set-up environment.
• Bilingual with proficiency in English and Chinese (as frequent communications with Chinese speaking stakeholders is expected).
• Singaporeans preferred.
