Job Description

The Company

We are International Reinsurance Brokers established since 1980 with clientele base in more than twenty countries. As a reinsurance specialist, the company works on behalf of insurance companies to facilitate the placement of the Treaty and Facultative reinsurance program.

The company is regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and has subsidiary companies in Jakarta and Colombo.

We are looking for a full-time candidate to assist in the Finance & Administrative Department.

Candidates with related working experience will have an advantage.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Handle Full/Partial set of accounts - AP/AR/GL
  • Prepare manual journal entries (i.e. Prepayment, Depreciation, Accrued expense, etc)
  • Review online payment instructions, staff expense claims, other operating expenses, etc
  • Responsible for timely month-end closing and preparation of monthly schedules
  • Prepare monthly revaluation of trade debtors & creditors, accrued brokerage income, and year-end accounts revaluation
  • Prepare and filing of GST returns and ensure timely submission
  • Prepare in management reporting, Cashflow forecasting, and budgeting
  • Provides accurate, timely, and relevant recording and analysis of financial information reporting to management
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
  • Monitor Cash-flow management of company's account and clients account (IBPA)
  • Review and query of company subsidiary accounts and group consolidation
  • Reconciliations of Inter-company accounts balances
  • Review and handle corporate taxation issues, liaise with tax agent/IRAS queries
  • Assist in audit preparation during financial year-end closing, answer to auditor queries to ensure compliance
  • Prepare and filing of MAS statutory returns, ensure timely submission and oversee regulatory compliance
  • Communicate effectively with external auditors and corporate secretary on annual statutory audit, providing support
  • Communicate effectively with bank officers and other government officials
  • Assist in Contracts and renewals including TOBA, KYC, AML/CDD
  • Assist in general office administration/ HRM ad-hoc duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

  • University Degree in Accountancy from respectable Universities or professional qualification, i.e. ACCA
  • Must be conversant in Companies Act, Insurance Act, PDPA, local taxation
  • Must be able to work under pressure and tight deadline
  • Positive attitude, strong self-motivation and pro-active
  • Mature, responsible, and able to work independently
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Words/Powerpoint, etc
  • Able to commence work immediately or with short notice is a plus point
