The Role

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Accountant to join our finance team on a 6 months contract (extendable). This role will oversee the full spectrum of accounting functions, including general ledger management, financial reporting, and compliance. The successful candidate will partner closely with the Finance Manager to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations, while supporting business performance insights and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full Set of Accounts: Oversee and manage the full set of accounts, including GL, AP, and AR functions.
  • Month-End Closing: Lead the month-end closing process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting timelines.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets, providing variance analysis and key insights.
  • Journal Entries: Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.
  • GST & Statutory Compliance: Prepare monthly GST reconciliations, quarterly GST submissions, and assist in statutory reporting requirements.
  • Audit & Tax: Support internal and external audits, prepare audit schedules, and assist with corporate tax-related matters.
  • . Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
  • Corporate Reporting: Prepare monthly corporate reports and ensure compliance with internal reporting standards.
  • Payroll Review: Validate payroll-related reports and postings for accuracy.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to process enhancement initiatives and automation projects within the finance function.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Provide financial support for ad hoc business initiatives and management requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or a recognised professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CA).
  • Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in full set accounting and financial reporting.
  • Strong technical understanding of accounting principles and local statutory requirements.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Detail-oriented, hands-on, and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Positive attitude, adaptable, and eager to contribute in a dynamic environment.
