Job Summary: The CAPEX Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and managing capital expenditure, fixed assets, and related financial reporting. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong accounting knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage month-end closing activities and ensure completeness and accuracy of fixed assets sub-ledger in relations to capitalization, depreciation and disposal.
- Monitor and track capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects to ensure they are executed within the approved budget, reporting expenditure and providing variance analysis .
- Assist in budgeting capital needs for projects, conduct ROI analysis and provide insights on capital spend trends.
- Review and process assets additions, retirements, transfers and impairments in compliance with company policies and accounting standards (IFRS/US GAAP)
- Prepare CAPEX reports and align CAPEX spending with cash flow planning
- Conduct periodic fixed assets verification and physical audits to ensure proper assets tracking and reporting. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting regulations, internal controls, and company policies.
- Provide inputs and handle queries on the processes handled during audit.
- Support automation initiatives and implement process improvement related to fixed assets accounting and Capex management to enhance efficiency.
- Undertake ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in accounts payable and/or CAPEX management.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles related to CAPEX.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Independent, proactive with a positive and hands-on attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with non-financial stakeholders and team members.
