Role Overview
A global commodity market intelligence provider is seeking a Japanese-speaking Key Account Manager to drive new business development while managing and growing a portfolio of key accounts across Japan and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and client discovery through to proposal, negotiation and closing.
- Build and convert a strong pipeline of new business opportunities across priority sectors.
- Manage key accounts, driving renewals, retention, cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
- Engage senior stakeholders across procurement, supply chain, sustainability, operations and commercial functions.
- Develop account plans and deliver consultative solutions based on clients market intelligence and data requirements.
- Maintain accurate pipeline, account and revenue forecasts within the CRM system.
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Editorial and subject-matter experts to deliver tailored client solutions.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of B2B sales, account management or business development experience, ideally within commodity markets, financial information, market intelligence, data subscriptions or related sectors.
- Professional fluency in Japanese and English to effectively manage Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders.
- Proven track record in achieving revenue targets, developing new business and growing existing accounts.
- Strong consultative selling, negotiation, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercially driven, customer-focused and comfortable managing both acquisition and account retention responsibilities.
- Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM platform would be advantageous.
