Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Account Executive to support daily accounting operations and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting within our finance team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes to ensure accurate transaction recording and timely payments
  • Verify supplier invoices and obtain proper approvals before processing payments to maintain compliance and accuracy
  • Prepare and process payments to vendors and suppliers efficiently and accurately
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and prepare weekly bank balance reports to ensure financial accuracy and cash flow monitoring
  • Handle GST reporting and ensure compliance with statutory tax requirements
  • Process petty cash claims and staff reimbursements in accordance with company policies
  • Maintain organized accounting records, supporting documents, and filing systems to support audit and tax processes
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely financial closure
  • Support external auditors and tax agents during audit and tax filing exercises by providing required documentation and explanations
  • Participate in stock take exercises and assist with inventory-related accounting matters
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and schedules as required by management
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties assigned by management to support finance operations

Required competencies and certifications

  • Possess at least an LCCI Certificate, Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Experience handling AP, AR, bank reconciliation, and GST submissions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Proficient in English and Mandarin (spoken and written) to liaise with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders and review business documents prepared in Mandarin

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Ability to handle full sets of accounts (preferred as it helps but is not essential to core duties)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Accounting System (preferred as it helps but is not essential to core duties)
  • Meticulous and organized with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to accounting tasks and financial data review
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and external parties
  • Positive working attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability
