Hyphen is partnering with one of Silicon Valley's fastest-growing AI infrastructure companies to hire exceptional engineers for its expanding Singapore engineering team.

Despite its rapid growth and significant commercial traction, the engineering organization remains intentionally lean, giving every engineer meaningful ownership over systems that operate at enormous scale.

The Opportunity

This is a rare chance to work on some of the hardest engineering challenges in modern AI.

As a Research Engineer, you'll move fluidly across distributed systems, large-scale data infrastructure, machine learning performance, retrieval, and core platform engineering. The role is intentionally broad—you're expected to solve whichever technical problems will have the greatest impact.

Example projects include:

• Designing highly scalable distributed systems
• Improving performance and efficiency across ML workloads
• Building high-throughput infrastructure processing internet-scale datasets
• Developing intelligent retrieval and ranking systems
• Optimizing latency, throughput and reliability of production AI platforms
• Shipping end-to-end features that directly improve product quality

Who They're Looking For

The hiring team is deliberately open-minded about backgrounds. What matters most is exceptional engineering ability.

Strong candidates often come from:

• A-tier technology companies
• AI infrastructure or machine learning organizations
• Research engineering teams
• Quantitative trading or other performance-critical engineering environments
• Large-scale distributed systems or platform engineering teams

You'll likely have:

• Outstanding software engineering fundamentals
• Experience building production systems at meaningful scale
• A track record of solving technically challenging problems
• Strong curiosity and the ability to work across multiple technical domains
• A desire to own projects from concept through production

Experience in machine learning, distributed systems, data infrastructure, search, or performance engineering is all highly relevant, but exceptional engineers from adjacent domains are strongly encouraged to apply.
