6 Months AVP, Sustainability (Insurance) #BYR

About the Role

We are hiring a 6-month maternity cover Sustainability Specialist to support the development and execution of sustainability initiatives across the organisation. Reporting to the Head of Sustainability, this role involves identifying sustainability risks and opportunities, supporting ESG initiatives, and working closely with stakeholders to drive sustainability strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Sustainability Initiatives & Reporting
. Support implementation of sustainability initiatives, including Net Zero transition plans to reduce GHG emissions
. Prepare reports and presentation materials for senior stakeholders and committees
. Coordinate sustainability reporting aligned with recognised frameworks (e.g. ISSB, GRI)
. Manage ESG data collection and support environmental risk reporting aligned with MAS guidelines
. Support supplier sustainability assessments and manage ESG-related memberships with external organisations

Social Sustainability
. Support sustainability training, communications and employee engagement initiatives
. Assist with diversity & inclusion initiatives and community programmes
. Coordinate partnerships with NGOs, government agencies and community stakeholders

ESG Research & Industry Engagement
. Research sustainability trends, regulatory developments and industry best practices
. Monitor ESG regulations (e.g. MAS Environmental Risk Management guidelines)
. Support engagement with industry bodies and sustainable product initiatives

Requirements

Experience
. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Sustainability, ESG, Environmental Risk or Social Impact
. Experience in financial services or insurance industry preferred
. Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g. ISSB, GRI) is advantageous
. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
. Passion for sustainability and ability to manage multiple initiatives

Education
. Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Studies, Business, Finance, Economics, Social Sciences or related field preferred
. ESG or Sustainability certifications (e.g. GARP SCR, CDSP, GRI) are an advantage

Budget: $8,000-$9,600 + half month bonus
