Introduction
We are recruiting on behalf of a major international energy operator for an experienced 3D Model Specialist to support the engineering and execution of a large offshore FPSO development. This position will serve as the Company's focal point for integrated 3D model governance and reviews, ensuring design integrity, compliance with project requirements, and alignment with safety, operability, maintainability, and lifecycle asset performance objectives. The role requires extensive FPSO experience and a strong understanding of operator expectations throughout the project lifecycle, from FEED through commissioning and digital handover.
Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will lead and coordinate multidisciplinary 3D model reviews involving Process, Mechanical, Piping, Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation, Marine, Commissioning, and Operations teams.
- You will be responsible for overseeing model governance, monitoring model maturity and quality, and ensuring engineering contractors comply with company digital engineering standards and requirements.
- The role includes conducting independent reviews of contractor-developed layouts, facilitating clash detection and layout optimization workshops, driving the resolution of model review actions, and ensuring designs meet safety, operational, accessibility, maintainability, and constructability requirements.
- You will also assess equipment handling and removal paths, maintenance access, crane operations, laydown areas, modularization constraints, escape routes, and other critical operational considerations.
- Additionally, you will support digital asset handover activities, verify consistency between installed facilities and engineering models, and contribute to project assurance reviews and contractor management activities.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline, with additional qualifications in Digital Engineering, BIM, or 3D Design Systems considered advantageous.
- A minimum of 12 years of Oil & Gas experience and 8 years supporting offshore facilities or FPSO projects is required.
- Applicants should have proven experience conducting 3D model reviews from an Operator, Owner's Engineer, or EPC perspective and have participated in FEED, Detailed Engineering, Construction, and Commissioning phases.
- Experience with deepwater FPSO developments, constructability and operability reviews, design safety reviews, and familiarity with TotalEnergies projects and General Specifications (GS) will be highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in AVEVA E3D, PDMS, SmartPlant 3D (SP3D), Navisworks, Digital Engineering Governance, Clash Detection Management, Constructability Reviews, Operability Assessments, Design Safety Reviews, Model Assurance Processes, and Asset Lifecycle Information Management is essential.
