Job Description

Role Overview The AML Operations Intern is responsible for conducting investigations and reviews of potentially suspicious transactions. The investigator will work closely with stakeholders to identify parties responsible for perpetuating illegal activities.
Key Responsibilities

Transactional Investigations

Conduct investigations into suspected suspicious activities, review documents and financial records and make recommendations on account relationships
Maintain accurate records of investigations and report findings
Obtain all necessary documentation to complete the client file and report findings to stakeholders
Keep up to date with the latest scam trends and techniques to ensure that investigation and assessments made remain effective

LEAs (Law Enforcement Agencies) Projects

Participate in project initiatives arising from SPF, MAS, MOM, and other regulatory agencies relating to mule account prevention and mitigation.
Learning Objectives for the Intern

By the end of the internship, the intern will gain:

A strong understanding of banking AML/CTF obligations, MAS 626 guidelines, and KYC lifecycle.
Hands-on experience in KYC file preparation, with the ability to identify and assess anomalies in customer transactional behavior.
Exposure to the end-to-end AML process, from alert generation and investigation through to case resolution and closure.
Competency in corporate structures, retail banking customer behaviour, and risk indicators.
Practical knowledge of workflow optimisation and operational controls.
