Purpose and Scope

The Senior Engineer - M&E is responsible for managing and coordinating mechanical and electrical engineering works across construction projects in the built environment. This role ensures that all M&E systems are designed, installed, and commissioned in accordance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and quality standards. The Senior Engineer also supports project planning, technical resolution, and stakeholder coordination.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Oversee the execution of M&E works on-site, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and schedules.
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth project delivery.
Review and approve M&E design submissions, shop drawings, and method statements.
Monitor site progress and conduct inspections to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
Support testing, commissioning, and handover of M&E systems.
Plan and manage the deployment of materials, tools, and equipment for M&E works.
Ensure all workers under supervision adhere to safety protocols and are equipped with appropriate PPE.
Maintain accurate documentation including site reports, inspection records, and progress updates.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and site staff.

Requirements

Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in M&E engineering within the built environment sector.
Strong knowledge of M&E systems, construction processes, and local regulatory requirements.
Experience in piping works with Oil & Gas would be an advantage.
Experience in managing subcontractors and resolving site-related technical issues.
Strong technical and analytical skills.
Effective communication and coordination skills.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
