We're Hiring: Junior Sous Chef

Are you passionate about culinary excellence and ready to take the next step in your kitchen career We're looking for a Junior Sous Chef who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering quality dishes with consistency.

In this role, you will support daily kitchen operations and assist in supervising food preparation and service. Working closely with the Sous Chef and senior team, you will help maintain high standards, ensure smooth workflow, and guide junior staff while upholding hygiene and safety practices.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Sous Chef in the daily operations and coordination of the kitchen.
Support the supervision of food preparation and service to ensure efficiency and timely delivery during assigned shifts.
Ensure consistent preparation and cooking of menu items in accordance with established recipes, quality, and presentation standards.
Assist in guiding and supporting junior chefs to maintain consistency, discipline, and proper kitchen practices.
Follow instructions on recipe updates, daily specials, and menu changes, ensuring accurate execution by the team.
Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, health, and workplace safety standards in line with company and regulatory requirements.
Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils at all times.
Monitor kitchen equipment usage and report any faults or safety concerns to the Sous Chef or relevant superior.
Support stock rotation, inventory control, and proper handling of ingredients to minimise wastage.
Assist in maintaining an organised and efficient kitchen environment.
Support other operational duties as assigned by the HOD or Management.

Requirements

Minimum GCE O Level qualification
At least 3 years of experience in a similar role as a Sous Chef, preferably in Western cuisine
Strong creativity with excellent food presentation skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills
A strong team player with a collaborative attitude
