Look up life stories of people that have worked in the career path you\u2019d like to see yourself in and pay close attention to the things they had to do, as well as the pitfalls they might have come across. Rather, a mentor is a pillar of support and a resource for direction. Seek this out in people, and observe them closely. People love talking about themselves, so make a polite request to learn more about what it takes to achieve their success. If there\u2019s someone at your company or in your network that you think would be interesting to speak with, don\u2019t hesitate to email someone to get yourself booked into their schedule.
